Davis Vision's Proprietary Vision Center Chain Teams with Buffalo Bills in Fan Food Drive
PLAINVIEW, NY (Sept. 14, 2007) – Empire Vision employees enthusiastically participated in The Buffalo Bills’ tenth annual Fan Food Drive for the Food Bank of Western New York. The drive began Sunday, Sept. 9, during the team’s season kick-off home game against the Denver Broncos, and ended Friday, Sept. 14. Fans unable to attend the match-up were encouraged to drop off their donations of non-perishable food items at select Empire Vision store locations in the Buffalo area. Before the game, Food Bank volunteers collected food and cash from Bills’ fans at the stadium gates.
“The drive was extremely successful,” remarked Michael Billoni, Marketing & Public Relations Director of Food Bank of Western New York. He estimated that several thousand pounds of food, as well as generous monetary gifts, were collected at the stadium.
Tom Laughlin, Regional Manager for Empire Vision stores in the Buffalo area, also called the drive a success, reporting abundant donations from Empire customers. Among the gifts were several large bags of baby food brought into the East View Plaza store in Williamsville, NY. “It’s something that the Food Bank can definitely use,” remarked Gregory Long, store manager. “It was definitely worthwhile.”
This fall, Empire Vision will also be participating in the Coat Drive for the Buffalo Bills. Boxes will be placed in about 20 Buffalo-area stores for donations of winter coats.
