Davis Vision Earns NCQA Re-certification

PLAINVIEW, NY (Sep. 10, 2008) – Davis Vision is pleased to announce that it has been re-certified by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) in provider credentialing. The certification is valid from June 18, 2008 through June 17, 2010. Davis Vision was first awarded the NCQA’s two-year certification in 2004, and was re-certified in 2006.

Re-certification followed a thorough review process by the NCQA, which included a site visit and an audit. “This formal recognition—combined with our uncompromising pursuit of excellence—clearly gives Davis Vision an advantage among vision care organizations," said Jodi Wolf, Director of Credentialing.

Davis Vision’s extensive Quality Assurance Program was designed from its inception to ensure that members experience the highest standards of care quality. As part of this program, the credentialing process was constructed to meet and exceed NCQA requirements.

“We prepare extensively to earn our certification, and are gratified by this recognition of our strict quality standards,” said Dr. Joseph Wende, Senior Vice President of Professional Affairs and Quality Management. “Our customers and network providers are the ultimate beneficiaries of this achievement.”

The NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. In 1991, in response to the need for standardized, objective information about the quality of managed care organizations, the NCQA began assessing and reporting the quality of these programs through accreditation and performance measurement programs. Today the NCQA is the premier source for information regarding health care quality, enabling consumers and employers to make more informed decisions about their health care.
