Davis Vision’s Joseph Wende, O.D. named first vice president of the National Association of Vision Care Plans

PLAINVIEW, N.Y. (May 13, 2010) - Joseph Wende, O.D., Davis Vision's senior vice president of professional affairs and quality management, has been appointed first vice president of the National Association of Vision Care Plans (NAVCP).

In this role, Dr. Wende will help the NAVCP meet its objectives to improve quality in the vision care industry, increase membership and add value to members and develop strategies related to the new health care reform.

The NAVCP was founded in 2002 with the goal of providing a forum to exchange information and explore matters related to managed vision care. Dr. Wende will serve a two-year term.

"I look forward to serving the NAVCP in this role, especially in light of recent health care reform," said Dr. Wende. "This is an excellent opportunity to give Davis Vision a voice in the vision care industry."
