1917	Davis Optical established.
1964	Davis Vision, the “Eyecare Advantage™”, incorporated to provide comprehensive vision care programs.
1987	Constructed current corporate headquarters and regional ophthalmic fabrication laboratory facility in Plainview, New York .
1990	CompuVision™, the benchmark computerized central claims processing system, was developed in our Information Services facility.
1991	Davis Vision’s entire network is credentialed to comply with standards set by the independent NCQA. Davis Vision has been utilizing these same standards since the mid-1980s as a mechanism to ensure the quality of providers invited to participate in our network.
1993	Davis Vision recognized as New York State’s highest performing company as the sole recipient of the 1993-94 Governor’s Excelsior “Quality at Work” Award.
1993	Major expansion of our Preferred Provider Organization inclusive of private practitioners (Optometrists and Ophthalmologists), with growth to nearly 10,000 doctors in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Saipan.
1994	Expanded the industry benchmark laboratory in Plainview, New York with automated surfacing capabilities.
1994	Opened Las Vegas, Nevada laboratory and regional service center to provide enhanced distribution of finished eyewear to members in the Southwest.
1995	Davis Vision acquired Empire Vision Centers, which was at the time, the nation’s 23rd largest optical chain and the 1st in sales volume per store.
1997	Relocated Las Vegas, Nevada laboratory to a larger, ultra modern facility with state-of-the-art technology and robotics.
1998	Philadelphia, Pennsylvania service center and regional ophthalmic fabrication laboratory opened.
1998	Activation of fully interactive member-centric internet web site to better serve our clients, members and network providers. Members can review eligibility benefits and utilize the Provider Finder function to find nearby doctors with driving directions and illustrative maps to offices. Providers can process orders to our proprietary laboratories online and real time using www.davisvision.com.
1999	Implemented National Laser Vision Correction Discount Program. Provider network expands to more than 10,000 doctors.
2000	Interactive web site enhancements such as the Virtual Frame Collection Viewer, Spanish Language Version and Online Patient Satisfaction Survey.
2001	Awarded COLTS Gold Award for Quality.
2001	First Vision Care PPO to receive JCAHO Accreditation.
2001	New Customer Relationship and Information Technology Center in Latham, New York.
2002	Redesigned commercial web site, including enhanced Benefit Management, Benefit Consultant Services and Provider Application functionality.
2002	Pursuing ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Certification for company-owned ophthalmic fabrication laboratories.
2002	Davis Vision's optical retail chain — Empire Vision Centers — now ranked as the 12th largest nationally.
